Our first meeting

We met Ariana last night. It was wonderful to meet her! It was surreal and overwhelming, but very very good. I don't want to say too much more than that, but we might get together again this weekend if her schedule allows.

Blessings!

Yes, if her schedule doesn't include labour and delivery! Seriously, though, I'm so glad it went well. I'm looking forward to hearing more about her, and keeping my fingers crossed that her baby is Hester Willa.

That's great news. And if I may quote a previous commenter: "yay!" :)

I tell you, I'm getting a perverse enjoyment out of watching your story unfold. Two years ago today we submitted our homestudy paperwork for adoption number one (aka: James.. lol). We met his birthmom on the 14th, just three days later. Her first contact with us was in December of '04 and James was born in Feb. of '05... so our timelines are pretty similar.

Watching your journey is like reliving ours. <3

If you ever want to commisterate offline or off blog to someone who has BTDT (well, as much as one can have experience in the very 'every situation is different' land of domestic open adoption) feel free to email me. I'd be happy to be a sounding board and a shoulder. :) :)

So glad to hear you are feeling better and the meeting went well with Ariana.

I've been super busy and super sick as well so I'm just now catching up on your blog.

Guess what? Jake's birthday is the 15th!

I'll be thinking of you all!

Adding a third Yay! to the fray!

Glad you're feeling better. Big G & I are both at the tail-end of some nasty viral onslaught too, but upper respiratory. No fun being sick!

Wendy, I knew about Monday being Jake's birthday, but somehow the 2 pieces of info didn't connect. I'll be so excited if our daughter is born on your son's birthday! Ooh! The excitement!

Thanks again, everyone! Y'all are very kind and I appreciate your words of encouragement very much.
