WRONG

So, who heard Matt Lauer's interview with M.K. Letourneau and Vili Faulaa this morning? It made me FURIOUS. The interview was scripted as a Love Story Against All Odds; in the intro, Matt Lauer said, "Most skeptics thought it could never last," and the title of the piece was "Teacher-Student Marriage." Can you even believe that shit? Vili was a SIXTH GRADER the first time M.K. raped him, and now we're supposed to congratulate the happy couple on their first wedding anniversary? And celebrate their marriage because, Oh, hey, M.K. served her time and besides, as Vili said, "There's a lot of other male rapers that do six months and they're out."

Note to Vili: This isn't your fault. It's M.K.'s fault. But GODDAMN I hope you get some help.

And also? WHY ISN'T CHILD RAPE PUNISHABLE BY LIFE IN PRISON?

My head's going to explode.

No Doubt. IT is disgusting. I think letters to the today show is needed. It is like congratulating a bank robber after s/he serves their time and then buys a house with the money. Stupid and horrifying.

Oh no, I can't believe that!!!! And just how screwed up are their kids going to be? How do you explain that story when they start asking questions at whatever age?

Wrong!! Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong!!!!!

I know, Canada. Matt Lauer asked that, too, and M.K. replied, "We tell them that Vili was my student, and that he really liked me and I tried to ignore it at first." Can you even BELIEVE that? Here's what I'd tell them: "I raped your daddy and had you, then I raped him again and had your sister. I've been fucking with his head continuously since he was your age." M.K.'s on some kind of crazy power and control marathon, and we're supposed to CONGRATULATE her? I don't think so.

OH man this is one of my hot buttons! And it isn't just this case. Take a look at ANY news piece that involves an underage male victim. If you aren't looking, you might miss it, but the wording is entirely different than in reports about female victims or even reports about male victims of adult males, and totally whitewashes the fact that these women are r*pists. Pisses. Me. Off.
I tell you this, any woman every lays a HAND on my boy, she's gonna be talking to Matt Lauer from beyond the grave.

I think it is not just male survivors but it is also women perpetrators. Those who are victim to female perpetrators are not acknowledged by the rest of the survivor community. Even the best book, The Courage to Heal, has only a paragraph or so saying we are going to use he throughout the book to talk about perps but you can switch it to she in your head. I found that to be so belittling of my experiences. Eventhough the book was really the best thing out there, it still marginalized me. People just do not get the idea of a woman committing sexual violence. They think it is impossible. They are stupid and clinging to the sexist ideas that women do not have sexuality; that women only are sexual to please their man.

That woman raped that little boy and the media as since it happened given her so much positive reinforcement. People do not see beyond her tears to the manipulating bitch she is. I am beyond disgusted by this and am writing to the today show today. I encourage all you readers and lurkers to write as well. The media needs to treat this as a crime, not like a happy occasion. She is a filthy, disgusting vermin, not a blushing bride.

The thing that really tears me is I've seen some people who are really awesome feminists make comments to the effect that acceptance of this couple is a pro-feminist attitude. And I'm like, what the eff? Just because men are more often the perpetrators of these types of crimes doesn't mean they can't also be victims. Grr, and I really mean gggggrrrrrr.

WTF? Acceptance of a Law Breaking, Power and Control-ing, Sick Mother Fucking, Child Abusing, Female Perpetrator's "relationship" with her victim is PRO-FEMINIST?

Where is Gloria when we need her?
