Red hot
So, remember my "slightly feverish" toddler? Well, his temp went from 99 to 104 degrees in an hour. SO SCARY. Fortunately, I got it down to 103 with some baby Motrin, a cold compress, and lots of water, but I was sweating it until his mom came to pick him up. It makes me nervous when the kids get sick on my watch.
I wonder how it'll be when it's Hester with the high fever.

What's your policy--if they get sick do you call the parents to come get them right away? I'm just curious. :)
Hmmmmmmm. You'll either be super panicked because Hester is your own or you'll be calm because you have lots of experience.
Hey, my blog is finally back up! Hooray! Nothing new and interesting on it yet though.
Hey PK, here are my policies:
If a child has a fever over 99 degrees, I give a call just to notify the parents. If it's 101 degrees or higher, I call and ask the parents to pick up the child (the parents get 2 hours in my contract, but in real life it's never been longer than an hour). Kids have be fever-free for 24 hours before returning to my program. Vomiting and diarrhea are similar--if a kid vomits or has two episodes of diarrhea, s/he goes home and can return after being symptom-free for 24 hours.
And JPP, that's awesome about your blog! Now I can cyber-stalk you again.
