I don't know about that adorable green hat/scarf set--it's from www.stuffonmycat.com. I wish I had the pattern, too, because that set is the cat's meow!

This red cat hat took me an hour and a half this afternoon while the baby was sleeping, and I just made it up as I went along (pawsing for frequent fittings with Mr. Baby; ha!). I started with a couple rows of garter st, then switched to an inch and a half or so of St. st. I bound off holes for the ears, then cast them on again when the holes were big enough. Next, I decreased rapidly in back and bound off the whole thing. After that, I picked up sts along the sides and back, knit several rows garter st, and bound off again. Lastly, I picked up the ear sts and decreased those a bit too rapidly. I used cheap acrylic yarn ends for the hat, and Reuben purred like crazy when I put it on him. He's an unusual cat!

That hat is the fucking bomb. Did you know that purring isn't necessarily a good thing? OH, Reuben.
