Needle in a haystack

In an effort to reclaim the day for good, rather than evil, I just made some haystacks. The baby's asleep, I swear! It's my friend Y.'s recipe, and these suckers are divine! Just melt down a bag of butterscotch chips with 1/2 cup of creamy peanut butter, then mix in a bag of chow mein noodles. Drop little globs onto a cookie sheet, wait till they harden up, and commence to eatin'.

Maybe today's worth saving after all.

Well, since I'm one of the queens of pickiness in the food category, I don't like haystacks, but I am all about making cookies or some other goody to save the day. So I hope it works! Enjoy your goodies. :)

did you know that there is seafood in chow mein noodles? Just kidding!!!! Haystacks sound great, very similar to the hubby's family recipe for spiders (choc chips instead of butterscotch). Will you bring some to CT?

W., you just made my blood run cold. SO not funny with the seafood joke! However, I'll bring some haystacks to CT anyway.

Also, did you ever get that "Fuck y'all, I'm from Texas" t-shirt? Orca can't find one in his neck of the woods, but I keep thinking they must have them somewhere online.

Also, Fuck y'all, I'm from Texas? That's awesome. Do you think it would be illegal for me to wear that shirt since I'm not from Texas? What if I only wore it at home? That's so funny. I'm going to go look for it now.

Holy crap, now I want one, too! The ones we saw in Austin didn't have the outline of the state. Somehow that makes the design much more fetching, you know? Jane, let's get matching t-shirts and wear them to The Pour House or somewhere, m'kay? And W.'s Canadian, so if she can wear one, you can wear one.

Damn right I can wear one. "Fuck y'all, I'm from Ottawa" just doesn't do it!! Never found it, but now I'm gonna get one from the link! And I'm looking forward to the haystacks (sorry, Lady of Shallot, couldn't resist the seafood joke!)

Actually, now I want a "Fuck y'all, I'm from Ottawa" shirt, too. "Ottawa" wins prizes for originality!
