Madge, I soaked in it!

Here at Chez AJWP, we're in the midst of a Division of Labor Summit. Because Petunia and I are stereotypical social worker-style lezzies (minus the batik silk scarves, of course), this involves a lot of "I" statements and "When you do _______, I feel _______" sentences. It would be really funny if we were discussing a lighter topic, you know?

Question: Does everyone have issues with this DoL stuff, or are we overly sensitive?

Hey, DoL is a walk in the park. I backed into our babysitter's car (a family member)today. Man, the husband is PISSED (considering that he did the exact same thing to the same person 2 years ago, and never apologized - I did then, as well as this time), and he never ended up paying for the damage, and this is my first accident, I find this very obnoxious!!!!!!!! Good luck! I'm sure you'll work it out!

Well I don't know exactly what the issues are, but I don't think it's possible to not have some at least sometimes. For us though it's hard to ever really get mad at the other person because we're both always so busy that even if he gets stuck doing the dishes most of the time, it's because I'm doing laundry while he's doing dishes.

And if I make dinner most of the time, it's because he's studying or cleaning the rest of the apartment or doing homework. In the past, when we were both working we would sometimes have issues because we have the following difference of opinion: I think that I pick up after myself and him in a more regular fashion, though I am not necessarily one to scour the shower tiles with a toothbrush. He thinks that he does a more thorough job cleaning when he does, and he will truthfully scour every surface until you could eat off the toilet.

But in our current state of business we basically end up tackling the cleaning in a big spurt at once when we get behind, so this doesn't really apply. And the rest of the time the place is just a mess.

SIGH.
