HP7

Let's talk about Harry Potter, shall we?

Not the HP7 plot, mind you--I wouldn't give that away for love or money. Instead, let's talk about the fact that my brother Orca was supposed to buy himself a copy, read it, and then send it north to Petunia and me. We expected to receive it next week or the week after next.

Yesterday I heard a thud in our entryway, and guess what was there? A brand new copy of the book, just for us!

I finished it 10 minutes ago.

It's really good.

Thank you so much, Orca and Beluga, for thinking of us! It was such a happy (and very welcome) surprise!

WAIT, LET'S TALK ABOUT MY NEED TO WRITE THIS IN ALL CAPS BECAUSE I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT YOU ARE READING OR WATCHING HARRY POTTER CLEMENTINE!

What happened to your great hatred of Sci-fi? I am shocked beyond all shocks.

I have not read a single one but have seen the movies. They are getting better. The first one was pretty bad though.

I was a few years late to the HP party, but then I got hooked BIGTIME. My brother was the big influence there. I really do hate most sci-fi/fantasy books, but HP (and also The Giver--remember that book?) won me over to the dark side.

Also, I can't believe you didn't like the first movie. It was awesome!

Also, you really do need to read the books. For reals.

Also, I wish I had a cookie. Wouldn't a cookie be good right about now?

Damned PMS.

I didn't really dislike any of the movies, but they've just gotten better as they go so in comparison the first one is bad kind of.

I think it's hilarious that you're hooked on HP. I'll spend the rest of my life reading those books - aren't they like 800 pages long? SIGH.

The Giver rings a bell but I'm drawing a total blank on it, I have to look it up now.

A cookie would be EXCELLENT. Especially a pumpkin cookie. Or a really good grocery store-esque cake-y sugar cookie w/frosting. Mmmmmm.

Halso, you could knock out all of those books between now and Christmas just on your ride to work. They're long, but they're children's books. (Side note: Rememeber when we saw all the books on our syllabus in Children's Lit? We were all, "OH SHIT. This is a real class!")

Halso, you definitely must reread The Giver. Then the 2 after that, though I don't like them nearly as well.

I was thinking about a big-ass chocolate chip cookie yesterday, but today I'm feelng more lemon-ish. Go figure.

The book was AWESOME!!!! And magic is in no way science fiction. I think Harry is more like the Narnia Chronicles - not exactly, but in the genre.

I am so hooked - I'm a HP addict!
