Madge at the Boston Garden
So the Madonna concert was good times, but it made me feel like an old fogey. Seriously, they should have sold ear plugs along with binoculars--that shit was LOUD. And also, what's with the standing and dancing? I'm on my feet all day, and it would have been nice to sit on my ass and watch Madonna shake hers. Sigh. Those complaints aside, it was a fun show. Madonna's quite the performer, and she cracked me up all night. I only knew a few of her songs, but I was v. glad that one of them was "La Isla Bonita." Also, she sang "Like A Virgin"--it was a true Crapapella flashback (especially your solo, SLC. LOVE IT!). Thanks for a v. fun date night, Petunia!

Ha ha, yeah Heather said that M kept yelling at everyone in the audience if they didn't look like they were into it enough - like if they were sitting down for pete's sake. Bizarre. Glad you had fun!
Yeah, it was funny. I wanted to yell back, "It's past my bedtime, lady! Quit jabbering and get to singing." And how weird was it that we saw Heather right away? That place is HUGE, yet I saw 2 people I know. Odd.
What? WHAT????? You only know a few of Madonna's songs? Add to like Melissa Etheridge, and I don't know if we can be friends anymore! (just kidding, of course - if you'll still be friends with me now that I accidentally like Paris Hilton's new song!)
Glad you had fun. And have a great time tonight - I'm SOOO excited for you!
Hey Canada, you're way more in the loop than me: I didn't know that Paris Hilton sang until I read your blog. And I haven't bought a Madonna album since Immaculate Collection. But I'm afraid we do have to part ways on Melissa--agree to disagree, okay?
Hey there!! Me and my girlfriends drove from Halifax to catch her opening night in Boston~ we loved it!! so worth the $$$ I think we did about one week's worth of cardio that night alone!! I have some pics of the Boston show on my msn space if you'd like to relive the energetic tidal wave that is Madonna!! lol
Cheers!
I know, it's really funny that you saw Heather. When she came home I was like, "How was it?" and she said "Pretty good. I saw Amy and Annette." And I thought that was totally crazy too. How bizarre! She said she also saw Steven Tyler. She had binoculars with her. She said he kept coming and going and was all casual about it like the concert was background to his hanging-out time or something.
I think I'm older than you, right? Cause right now I'm wondering about that. I mean, the new Madonna CD is called "Confessions on a DANCEFLOOR" so of course there will be much dancing involved. Ah, thanks, AJWP, you've made me feel years younger. I actually plan on going dancing this weekend, twice if I have anything to say about it!
Also, OMG, don't even get me started on Paris. I made a summer mix of guilty pleasures, "Stars Are Blind" is of course featured as is the new Xtina song. I can't get enough. Speaking of which, Cheyenne Kimball might only be 15 but girl can write a damn catchy tune.
Okay, okay, so I'm not such a Madonna fan. I really liked True Blue, though--it was my first record! And I'm also not such a fan of anything that involves unneccessary movement, so no dancing for me. A comfy chair, a good book, some Diet Coke--that's definitely more my scene than a Madonna concert.
